Here you'll find information about the mentor program which :icontemplado: is in charge of.

In time people are gathering and doing first easy task, i`d like to ask you one very simple thing:
What reference is for? For what we use it? Which reference is better if any? How you, personally,  feel about using references? is it necessery? Is it right to do if you work on, for example, big show entry? And if you use it, do you need to give credit for reference?
And if you are a hoster - do you lowering score for using reference?
And back to basics - what is the sense of reference? How do you think? :)
It is veeery important question, really)

UPD: Remember, there is no one for all time deadline, but it would be awesome, if you could finish your task in a week or two.
So i could go with most of us further :)
Thanks!)

Hello, guys. Finally, hello.
First of all, i want to drag here my heavy apologises for my darn english.
Secondly, I want to make announcment about cthings that will happen here soon.
Bunch of first "challenges" are on the way)
Because we all here for horsey stuff it will be closely connected with your HA-RPG stable.
While i`ll be uploading some boring bla-bla videos on youtube (technically can`t stream or JM now) I`ll ask you to do very-very simple thing.
Pick one of your stable horses and draw it standing. Simply. As for halter show. Better, if horse would be simple solid colour)
I need of you just a fine made sketch or lineart. No tracing! it will be unfair)
Use reference for this picture.
And then.. do the similar sketch but without using the reference. (on next day or even with more significant gap between sketches)
Then we`ll redline this with comments.
So we`ll see the power of reference. And true sense of it)

You`ll have around week or two for doing that)

Also, those of you, who want to take challenges, tell me, if you`ve got breyer horse toys at home 1:9 scale is preffered. Or, maybe some other quality horse sculptures?
Have you access to live horses? Do you draw with traditional media or digital or both?
Taking drawing lessons?

And, surely, tell me in comments, what is interesting for you& About what do you want to know? (about drawing, of course)

The mentor program includes three branches of activity.

First - constructive critique.

Anyone, who takes part in competitions, that are approved or hosted by this group, may request constructive critique and advices about their artwork from me or my partner.
Remember, the task of this critique and tips is to help you improve, not to abuse you or something like this.
Every post with critique most likely shall have three logical parts: What you must be striving for, what you`ve got now and some tips on what to do to improve.

Second - tutorials and lessons.

Yep, that is it. Free public tips on "how to draw". Not only horses of course.

The third and the funniest - challenges.

Challenges in which you can participate and develope some skills. Every art made in borders of challenge will get my attention, so you`ll receive some tips and directions in which you`d probably should move on with your drawing practice.

And that`s not all. There is always a FAQ box opened, so you may ask everything you want and or suggest the next theme of tutorial etc.

And there will be some join-me sessions also.

The FAQ Box:

"Art is Progression, not Obsession"

The group is under construction!

Do you have to join something (like sign up for the mentor program?) to participate in this? :)
